What does onboarding look like?

We strongly believe onboarding is a crucial part of your journey at folk. Your onboarding experience is designed to ensure you feel a sense of belonging and inclusion from day one.

Here’s a sneak peek into what we’ve set up for you:

  1. The starting point.
    1. From the moment you receive your offer letter, your journey with our team begins. Your future manager will call you to share the exciting news, followed by a detailed offer letter via email.

  2. The "welcome home" feeling.
  3. We believe in making you feel at home from the get-go. After receiving your signed offer letter, we’ll keep in touch to ensure you feel welcomed.

    rom the day we receive the signed offer letter to your very first day, we'll strive to find any excuse we can think of to get in touch and make you feel at welcome.

    When we get the chance, we invite future team members to join our quarterly offsite and team events before their start date.

    On your first day, we’ll introduce you to the team with a welcome message on Slack, team rituals, coffee chats, or all of the above! We’ll also ask you to fill out a fun personal intro to share with the team, sparking conversations and connections.

    During your first few days, you’ll meet with team members, founders, and your buddy through dedicated onboarding sessions and coffee chats.

  4. The (huge) focus on planning.
    1. We aim for a seamless start. You’ll receive your IT equipment and tools at least a week in advance to set up your workspace and all paperwork will be completed before your first day. So then you can focus on meeting with the team 🙂

      Before your first day, we’ll share your onboarding guide, which includes:

    2. Introduction to your buddy (you’ll already have met via email)
    3. Onboarding checklist, program, and 30-60-90 day objectives
    4. Invitation on your GCalendar for onboarding sessions, team meetings and coffee-chat
  1. The delightful touch.
  2. One of the highlights of your onboarding will be your first offsite (aka folk-off). This event is a fantastic opportunity to meet the entire team in person. During this event, you’ll receive a welcome pack filled with surprises that we’re keeping under wraps for now. You wouldn’t want us to spoil the surprise for you! 😄
