What's your interview process?

At folk, we believe interviewing is not a one-way process, it's a matter of alignment. Each interview step is a discussion with an opportunity for you to ask us lots of questions.

Here's our interview process for most roles:

  1. Screening call: 30-minute video call usually with our Talent Manager to better understand where you at right now, how you project yourself in the future, and how it all relates to folk's path. It's also during this first step that we talk about your salary expectations. Learn why here 👀
  2. Call with the hiring lead: 45-minute call either with your future manager or a key team member you'll get to work with to dive into role specifics such as required knowledge and know-how as well as working environment, and day-to-day life.
  3. Deep dive interview: 60-minute call with your future manager and 1 team member to discuss a specific project that resonates with folks.
  4. Use case: We believe this part is key to putting everyone in real-time conditions and figuring out how we work with each other. This step will be run in 2 phases: 1. remote preparation and 2. debrief call with your future team and people you'll work closely with.
  5. Founder call: 30-minute discussion with one of folk's founders around vision, mission, and culture.
  6. Once we reach the founder call, we’ll get back to you asking for a couple of contacts to serve as references in order to best protect yourself at folk.

Regardless of the position, our interview process typically consists of 5 steps and takes approximately 2.5 weeks to complete.
